GrandOrgue Basics

What is GrandOrgue?

GrandOrgue is a computer-based pipe organ simulation program. This makes it possible for everyone to make the sounds of many well-known pipe organs audible and, above all, playable at home. The GrandOrgue software is programmed under a free license and can therefore be downloaded completely FREE from the Internet and used as desired!

The model is the program "Hauptwerk", which was released in 2003 by the Englishman Martin Dyde and is currently being further developed and distributed by the company Milan Digital Audio. There are already numerous so-called sample sets of original pipe organs that are offered by different set manufacturers.

GrandOrgue is constantly being further developed and has gained in functionality and sound quality compared to previous versions! So it is possible to use many of these beautiful Hauptwerk sample sets with GrandOrgue in very good quality - assuming appropriate adjustments.

Where can I get GrandOrgue?

GrandOrgue is available for different operating system platforms!

MS Windows, Linux, Apple OS X, Raspberry Pi and other systems are constantly supplied with current, executable versions of GrandOrgue. It is also possible for experienced users with programming knowledge to generate an executable program on other systems with the source code.

Recently, GrandOrgue has moved to another developer platform and will be further developed there. The current versions are now on GitHub:
